Just a few weeks earlier IBM tried to merge with SUN - but they stopped and refused the Deal and Mr. Larry Ellison tapped into the GAME - See Pic from Larry E.
Great deal and very strategic move to the JAVA Industry - Oracle might join the Open Source industry soon with this move.
